Carla P. Hummel is an experienced public defender, who handles a variety of cases in municipal court: traffic tickets, driving while suspended, possession of drugs in a motor vehicle, uninsured motorist, driving while intoxicated and other motor vehicle infractions, as well as minor criminal offenses.

After clerking for Superior Court Judge Marguerite T. Simon, J.S.C. in 1993, Carla became an attorney with Bergen County Juvenile Justice Pool and spent two years as a Juvenile Pool Attorney with the Hudson County Public Defender’s Office. As an associate attorney with reputable Bergen County law firms for several years, Carla has trial experience in municipal court and domestic violence disputes.

Carla was appointed Public Defender in Bogota, New Jersey in 2008.
